Recent Creatures and Characters

Pieces for Tardino's illustrative drawing class. Going with an African theme.

Figure Drawings

Two 6 hour poses. Huge drawings. Very frustrating when using a mechanical pencil. Appr. 2 ft. by 3 ft. each.

Recent Environments

These two were fun. The first is my idea of what a military bunker would look like on top of an isolated oil rig. America's got the upperhand on this one. The second image is futuristic victorian train depot. I will have to push the futuristic qualities more however.

The Escape

I really don't like this one. But I'll post it anyway.

The Dr. Seuss Monster

This was actually a class assignment. We were supposed to redesign a Dr. Seuss illustration. Dr. Seuss's version doesn't look anything like mine though.

Sunken Medusa

Another Creature of the Week. Subject: Pearl Finder. Lol, a buttery crab-cake from Red Lobster w/legs.

The Mammoth Neuroptera

Created for a weekly activity at Conceptart.org. The subject was sand hunter so I started concepting on the idea of a gigantic antlion. The movie tremors was an obvious inspiration for this one.

The Reign of the Beast

This piece was created for an online competition at Conceptart.org. I had fun with this one. Probably the most layers I've ever used for one piece. The composition is hectic, which resonates with the topic being about the end of the world. :D

Clever Girl

This piece was created for Mr. Payne's Illustration Seminar class. I consider it my first "successful" attempt at painting in photoshop; however, I'm not happy with how the raptors turned out. The other two pieces were also done in Mr. Payne's seminar. Titles "Brave New World" and "Your the man now DOG!"
